Hi there!

My name is S.L. Kletz. Keep scrolling to learn a little about me!

Based in Nashville, TN, S.L. Kletz has been a storyteller since childhood — relying on scribes to capture her narratives (often on Scooby Doo and scary monsters) prior to learning to write on copypaper she would steal from her family’s printer to staple together the first books she’d write.

Kletz was recognized for her writing talent from a young age, winning a poetry contest at age 10 that got her recognition from her district congressional representative. At age 17, she won the first place prize for an essay she wrote for the Walden Woods Project — an organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Henry David Thoreau.

She attended University of Georgia briefly during her undergrad before transferring to Middle Tennessee State University where she obtained her B.S. in English and taught as a pre-licensure teacher across local high schools and as a university intern for a freshman composition class. Her first short story was published in 2025 in her university’s honors magazine Collage, and she won the first place prize for prose two issues in a row with this publication.

In her free time, Kletz enjoys expanding her Frankenstein memorabilia collection and designing themed monthly newsletters on Canva for her mailing list of close friends and family.
